18Social Media Error Cakes E+W

(1)A MGA is guilty of an Offence if they—

(a)make an 'obvious' error on ANY 'Emergency Service' social media account;

(b)makes a spelling mistake on a social media post;

(c)give out pointless or incorrect information via a social media account;

(d)attempt to cover up a mistake by deleting, editing or changing a post, will constitute ANOTHER offence.

(2)An offence under Section 18(1) is aggravated if—

(a)the 'error' goes viral

(b)the 'error' is highlighted in any media outlet;

(3)A defence does not exist under Section 14(4) (Media Cakes) if the existence within the media is a direct result of the error in question becoming the subject of the article itself.

(4)An offence under Section 18 can be referred to the 'Appointed Person' for consideration for reclassification as an aggravated offence; See Appendix C.
